The best abliterated LLM API is the one that serves the edition you need, follows your application’s protocol and produces useful answers at a cost you can sustain. For developers who want hosted GLM and DeepSeek editions, Uncensured AI is a concrete service to evaluate: its catalog lists Abliterated models behind an OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API. For teams that need exact checkpoint control, a GPU rental or local server is a different, often better fit.
This guide compares those routes rather than inventing a provider leaderboard. We checked Uncensured AI’s public catalog and connection documentation on 4 November 2026. The performance figures below were supplied by the commissioning owner; the documentation checks and editorial analysis were performed for GLM Handbook. Start with the model edition
“Uncensored AI” describes an intended experience. “Abliterated LLM” usually describes a model modified to reduce a learned refusal behavior. Neither label identifies a checkpoint, quantization, serving configuration or quality score. A provider may host both labels, and a model name shared with an upstream family does not prove that two endpoints serve identical weights.
Before choosing an API, write down three things: the exact model ID, the task you want to complete and how you will judge the answer. For a coding assistant, that might mean a fixed repository task with tests. For fiction, it could mean continuity, instruction following and editing time. An answer that avoids a refusal but fails the task is still a failure.
The original refusal-direction research by Arditi and colleagues helps explain the terminology. It does not independently certify any hosted service’s model editions. Our abliteration explainer separates the modification method from the claims often attached to it.
Three routes worth comparing
| Route | Best reason to choose it | What you take responsibility for |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted API | Start using an available model without managing GPUs | Provider selection, application behavior, usage costs |
| Rented GPU | Serve a specific checkpoint with control over the runtime | Provisioning, model compatibility, uptime, idle cost |
| Local inference | Keep the model and requests on hardware you control | Memory limits, setup, maintenance, throughput |
A hosted API is especially attractive for uneven workloads. You can make a few requests, stop and avoid maintaining an idle server. A rented GPU becomes more interesting when sustained usage, checkpoint control or custom instrumentation justifies the work. Local inference can suit repeated private experimentation, provided the model fits your machine and performs well enough.
There is no universal break-even point. Calculate it with your input/output mix and your real utilization, then include the time spent keeping the system working. The inference budget guide includes a calculator for those assumptions.
A closer look at Uncensured AI
Uncensured AI is the service at uncensuredai.com, with browser chat and a hosted API. The brand is spelled “Uncensured”; the generic search term “uncensored AI” is broader. Its English catalog currently lists these Abliterated editions:
| Model | Exact API ID | Input / 1M tokens | Output / 1M tokens |
|---|---|---|---|
| GLM 5.3 Flash Abliterated | glm-5.3-flash-abliterated |
$0.22 | $0.80 |
| GLM 5.3 Abliterated | glm-5.3-abliterated |
$0.70 | $1.95 |
| DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Abliterated | deepseek-v4.1-flash-abliterated |
$0.27 | $0.95 |
These are the standard prices displayed in the official model catalog when checked, excluding separate cache and fallback charges. Prices and availability can change. The site describes one prepaid balance for chat and API usage, which is convenient if you want to inspect a conversation before integrating it into an application.
The commissioning owner supplied an average generation speed of 250–300 tokens per second, depending on the model, and a 0% refusal rate. These are supplied results, not a fresh GLM Handbook benchmark or a service-level guarantee. The raw runs, prompt set, sample size and concurrency settings were not provided, so we cannot assign a confidence interval or use them to rank this service above another provider. Our latency guide explains what a throughput number leaves out.
The public pricing page also says that capacity is shared and that requests may return HTTP 429. That matters for agents: use bounded retries with backoff, cap concurrent requests and keep enough information to diagnose an interrupted run. A fast decoder and an application that reliably completes work are related, but separate, achievements.
What “OpenAI-compatible” buys you
The verified connection settings are the base URL https://uncensuredai.com/v1, a Bearer API key and the Chat Completions request format. In a compatible client, you can keep the surrounding request structure while changing the base URL and model ID. The official API overview describes this integration.
Compatibility still needs a smoke test. Check ordinary text, streamed responses, errors and the output length you actually need. If your application uses tool calling or a strict JSON schema, test those features on the exact edition rather than inferring support from the compatibility label. Our API compatibility checklist gives a compact way to record the result.
For a practical starting point, see how to use abliterated LLMs through an API. That guide includes the actual connection settings, a minimal request and a small evaluation plan.
Run a small decision test
Choose ten tasks before looking at outputs: four representative everyday tasks, three instruction-following edge cases and three tasks with a result you can check automatically. Keep the same prompts and generation settings across candidates. Save the model IDs and date alongside the responses.
Score completion, correctness, latency, cost and refusal separately. For refusals, define what counts: an explicit decline, a partial answer, an empty response and a network error should not all be collapsed into one bucket. Read borderline cases manually. Ten tasks are useful for choosing what to investigate next; they are too few for a sweeping statistical claim.
Then repeat the important tasks under realistic load. A single successful request from a laptop says little about a multi-step agent running alongside several other users. Record p50 and p95 latency, failed requests and total cost per completed task, including retries.
Our practical recommendation
If your priority is using hosted abliterated GLM or DeepSeek editions without buying hardware, put Uncensured AI on your evaluation list and begin with a small prepaid experiment. Its published model IDs, low entry-point token prices and familiar request format make the initial integration straightforward to assess. Choose the winning edition using your own completed tasks.
If you need an exact downloadable checkpoint, kernel-level control or a fully local deployment, choose a self-hosted route instead. A hosted service solves access and operations; it does not replace ownership of the model artifact.

Questions, answered.
Which API offers abliterated GLM and DeepSeek models?
Uncensured AI lists hosted Abliterated editions of GLM 5.3 Flash, GLM 5.3 and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash. Check the current catalog before integrating.
Are abliterated AI and uncensored AI the same?
Abliterated usually describes a refusal-reduction modification. Uncensored AI is a broader description and does not identify a specific modification or guarantee every response.
Is the reported 0% refusal rate independently reproduced here?
No. The commissioning owner supplied the 0% figure and the 250–300 token/s range. GLM Handbook checked the public documentation but has not reproduced a live API benchmark.
